About
Hanasu² is a speaking practice app for language learners. It puts two AIs in one chat: a Character AI to talk to, and a Tutor AI to learn from. Pick an everyday situation, like ordering coffee or checking in at a hotel, and start talking. When the words won't come, the Tutor AI gives you a hint in your native language.
Hanasu means “to speak” in Japanese. The 2 is the two AIs.
The Character AI answers in voice, in the language you're learning, and keeps things moving. It never steps out of that language to correct you, so the chat keeps flowing. The Tutor AI waits on the side. Ask it anything and it reads the chat and explains in your native language. Then say it better.
Features
- Scenario Practice: Over 100 everyday situations across daily life, food and drink, shopping, travel, social life, and work, from ordering coffee to a job interview. Some are written just for the language you're learning. Ava, Sam, Kai, and Leo take turns as the Character AI, each with a different voice.
- Custom Scenarios: Describe an everyday situation you want to practice in your native language, like a doctor's visit or returning a purchase. The Character AI practices it with you.
- Talk Out Loud: Tap the mic, speak, and tap again when you're done. Fix the transcript if you need to, then send. The Character AI answers in voice and text.
- Audio Replay: Touch and hold any line in the chat to hear it read aloud, your own lines too. Choose Play Continuously to hear the chat from there to the end.
- Tutor Ask: Ask the Tutor AI anything about the chat. It explains each mistake and how to fix it, and shows you how people actually say it.
- Tutor Summary: Turn any chat into a study card with a recap, grammar points, natural phrasings, vocabulary with readings, and tips.
- Share with Friends: Share a chat as a link. A friend can read it on the web, or open the same scene in Hanasu² and practice it in their own languages.
- Saved Chats: Every chat is saved on your device, so you can pick it up again anytime. No account or sign-in needed.
- 10 Languages: Learn any of them, with the Tutor AI explaining in any of them. The app itself comes in all 10.
- Daily Reminder: A friendly nudge at the time you pick.
Made for iPhone and iPad
Hanasu² uses Liquid Glass on iOS 26 and later, and runs back to iOS 18. Folded, iPhone Duo works like any iPhone. Open it like a book, and the Tutor AI stays open on its own side of the fold, right next to the chat.
