Hanasu2 ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Hanasu2 website and the Hanasu2 mobile application (the "Service"). This page explains what information the Service handles, why, and the choices you have.
Hanasu2 is a language practice app. You speak with an AI character and receive coaching from an AI tutor. Making that work requires processing your voice and your conversation text, and this policy describes exactly how that happens.
When you hold the microphone button and speak, your audio is sent to our server and forwarded to a speech recognition provider to be converted into text. Recordings are processed to provide this transcription and are not used to build a voice profile of you or to train our own models.
The text of your conversations, including transcripts of what you said, is sent to our server and forwarded to third-party AI providers to generate the character's replies, the tutor's feedback, and the spoken audio you hear. Your conversation history is stored on your device, not on our servers. If you delete a chat in the app, or delete the app, that history is gone.
Your language choices and app preferences are stored on your device so the app works the way you set it up.
Like most online services, our server may log basic technical information such as IP address, request timestamps, and diagnostic data. We use these logs to keep the Service running, prevent abuse, and fix problems. On the website, we use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate traffic.
We rely on third-party AI providers for speech recognition, language model responses, and speech synthesis, and on hosting providers for our server and website. These providers process your data only to deliver their part of the Service. All AI requests go through our server, so providers receive the conversation content needed to respond but not your identity.
Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside of your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy wherever it is processed.
Data sent between the app and our server is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we use commercially reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may disclose data in the good faith belief that doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or property of Hanasu2, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service, protect the personal safety of users or the public, or protect against legal liability.
The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the effective date at the top. You are advised to review this page periodically. Changes are effective when posted.
